Last week marked our fourth RetailTO event and our third one this year—how crazy is that?! It was a packed house at Uken Games which may have been one of our favourite venues yet. Like every RetailTO event, the night started off with some networking and delicious refreshments. Our Brand Spotlight for this event was Good Food for Good, a startup focused on making food with fresh and organic ingredients. And that’s not all—every time you buy their products, they donate a meal to feed someone in need.
Our speaker lineup consisted of four Toronto-based thought leaders who weighed in on the evolution of today’s consumer. The first speaker of the night was Mathieu Gamache, Senior Marketing Manager at Hershey Canada, who discussed the topic of marketing with authenticity. He shared the story of how they created ASMR ads for Reese and discussed why sometimes taking risks in marketing can lead to a huge success. You can watch his full talk here.
Next up was Natalie Griffith, Client Success Manager at #paid, a creator media platform. She chatted about working with influencers and turning their influence into action, and also gave some valuable tips and tricks for using influencer content to drive visits and purchase. If you missed her talk, you can watch it here.
The last speaker of the night was Conor McPhail, Founder of Snacko, a snack delivery service. With past experience at UberEats, Conor shared four key convenience strategies for food delivery companies to be successful. His full talk can be found here.
We ended the night off with a panel moderated by RetailTO host, Marie Chevrier where she and the speaker lineup discussed the evolving consumer. The full session can be viewed here.
After each event, we continue to be overwhelmed by the response to RetailTO from both the tech and retail communities—especially since this quarterly event isn’t even a year old yet! Our next event will be taking place on October 28 at Rangle.io and you don’t want to miss this.
If you’re interested in speaking in future events or know someone who would be great, apply or nominate using this form.
See you at the next one!
